Chapter 4

In chapter 4 the author talks about not only glorifying God with our music but with our life. The concept he talked about is very relevant and important to understand. A lot of times musicians only focus on the music and not on our lifestyles. Our talents mean nothing in the end to God the only thing that matters is if we gave our life to God. He gives examples from the Bible on the importance of giving yourlife to God.

My favorite part was how he says we have to give our life to God without conditions. God should be number one in our life and we should not have our own agendas ahead of what God wants. I also enjoyed the fact that he used verses in the beginning of the carter to help set the tone for the rest of the chapter.

Chapter 3
In chapter 3 the author talks about the importance of having a servants heart. He used the story of David and how he was content with just watching over the sheep and writing songs of Gods greatness. His humble attitude led him to play in front of a king. This is a concept very different to the current world view of success. Many musicians today are only fuccosed on making it to the top. But the author encourages us to focus on having a broken heart for God and have a desire to please him.

I got a lot out this chapter. Many times I find myself only focussing on personal success and trying to make it to the top. It reminded me that it is important to do it in order to serve God and with that mentality success will come either way. God gives us talents in order to worship him and have a servants attitude toward what we do in life. And it is important to remember why you are doing it.
