My favorite part was how he used personal examples to prove his point and show that it is important to do what you're uncomfortable doing in order to achieve success.

Chapter 29
In chapter 29 the author talks about being uncomfortable. He starts off the chapter by saying what his parents used to tell him, " you don't have to like it, you just have to do it." He tells a story about how he first started leading worship without a guitar. It was uncomfortable but it was something he had to do for the better.

Chapter 28
In chapter 28 the author talks about the actual service. Leading up to the service there should not be any major changes if it was well planned. Also the songs should be in a good order and should not jump around from tempo to tempo. Each song should have a topic and the worship leader should be sensitive to the worship of people.
My favorite part was how the author relates the service to an athletic event.

Chapter 27
Chapter 27 the author talks about the importance of planning mentally for worship. Each service is important and must be well thought out and planned. Some people say that if a service is planned then it is not from God. But God actually encourages planning and is a God of order.
My favorite was how he said Jesus had a plan of salvation and we should plan also.

Chapter 15
In this chapter the author talks about diplomacy. The main parts of the chapter are the example the author gives of different situations where people in the worship band did not get along. In the stories the problems got so big that people wanted to leave the church. As worship leaders we should strive to build positive relationships with other band members in order to work together to lead the church.
My favorite part of the chapter was how the author gives real life stories. It is cool to see what really goes on within churches around the country. I personally have seen many arguments break a church apart.

Chapter 14
in this chapter the author speaks on the topic of caring for the congregation. He reminds us how it is important to listen to the feedback from the congregation. Our job is not just to do ministry but to minister to the people. We can not please everyone with the song selection but it is important to be in agreement with the majority.
My favorite part is how he says as a worship leader it is important to out the needs of others before our own as worship leaders. It is easy to get caught into to only thinking about what we want instead of what the church needs.

Chapter 13
In this chapter the author talks about priorities. In the chapter he goes into detail of what our priorities should be. He says above all God should be first in our lives. We must seek God and focus on him first before anything else. Second is our family, are family will always be there for us so we must build a relationship with them and set aside time for them.
My favorite part of this chapter is how he gives examples of his own life and how he has his priorities straight. I loved reading this chapter because as I get older it is harder to give time to what's really important. It is easy to get selfish and put myself as a priority but in order to grow I must put Hod and others first.

Chapter 12
In this chapter the author talks about spiritual gifts. It is important as musicians and worship leaders to find the spiritual gifts that God gave us. It is easy to focus on the musical talent God gave us and forget about the spiritual aspect of ministry. As leaders it is vital to find out spiritual gift in order to grow the kingdom of God.
My favorite part was how the author used scripture to prove how we all have spiritual gifts and how important it is to cherish it. The author brings the reader back to focus on things that may be skipped on.

Chapter 11
In this chapter the author talks about being an example as a worship leader. One insight he gives is to not only to set a good example on stage but in everyday life. As worship leaders we must understand that we are role models. The author talks about how at first he did not like the idea of being a role model but he worked through it and now embraces the idea of leading others not only through song but in the way he lives.
My favorite part about the chapter was how the author is real with the reader and expresses how he did not always embrace being a role model. I myself don't always like focussing on the other aspects of being a worship leader. I get so in tune with the music and do not want to pay attention to the spiritual aspect of it. But it is important to maintain that focus.

Chapter 10
In this chapter the author talks about the improvements of self discipline. As worship leaders or anything we do it is easy to be lazy and not prepare. As worship leaders in essence if we are not disciplined and practicing and mastering the songs for service we are not giving our best to Christ. We should prepare and be disciplined to practice. We also need to be disciplined and spend time in the word and devout time to prayer which are both essential to be a great worship leader. Without Christ in it, it is not possible to be successful.
My favorite part was when he brought up the verse that everyone who competes must be trained. We as Christians must be diligent and trained in Christ.

Chapter 9
In this chapter the author talks about the importance of not getting to caught up in your title. It is not good to hold on to your position because at any time God can move you to use you somewhere else. No one knows Gods plan so there is no need cling onto a position. A big problem in church is that people are too concerned with their own agenda.
My favorite part is how the author tells stories to prove his point. I also enjoyed how he said we should not find our indentidy in our position and what we do but in Christ.

Chapter 8
In this chapter the author speaks on the importance of spiritual maturity. As worship leaders it is important that we do not only rely on out gift but we have to focus on the spiritual side of being a musician which is often overlooked. As worship leaders we must be spiritually mature in order to stay humble inspite of all the success we have. A worship leader who is not mature in the Lord can cause many problems within the church.
My favorite part about the chapter is how the author is real and shows how a immature worship leader can be a bad influence on others around him and the band. A true worshiper is humble before God and lives to grow in him. A worship leader is more than a musician but is a vessel for Christ for others.
