Chapter 8

In this chapter the author speaks on the importance of spiritual maturity. As worship leaders it is important that we do not only rely on out gift but we have to focus on the spiritual side of being a musician which is often overlooked. As worship leaders we must be spiritually mature in order to stay humble inspite of all the success we have. A worship leader who is not mature in the Lord can cause many problems within the church.

My favorite part about the chapter is how the author is real and shows how a immature worship leader can be a bad influence on others around him and the band. A true worshiper is humble before God and lives to grow in him. A worship leader is more than a musician but is a vessel for Christ for others.

  1. David I really liked what you said and definitely agree that worship is more than just music. I especially like when you said that a musician is a "vessel for Christ for others" because that's such an important mindset to have.

  2. I also really liked how the author showed honestly how an immature worship leader can be a bad influence on others. At the same time, however, I fell really convicted that I myself am not mature enough to lead the student body in worship. I guess what it really comes down to is relationship and trust - we have to trust that our relationship with Him and the time that we've invested will help us to worship.

  3. David, I really like what you said. I especially like when you said a true worshipper is humble before God. We should definitely work on that as worship leaders. I also really like your choice of vocabulary. :)
